Tech savvy students know that with exams around the corner, it is time to arm their smartphones and tablets, as well as laptops with everything they need for success. And with the variety of applications available, students do not have any excuse to walk into a classroom unprepared or worse still fail an exam. When the exam time finally comes, with the following apps to help you out in your studies, you should be good to go. The applications however are not subject specific and as such can be used across the many different disciplines for TAFE courses online or any other study to help achieve success.
This application allows you to create flash cards easily using your mobile device. It even allows you to add pictures and diagrams to the cards that you create. The application also provides you with access to flashcards that have been pre-made and are powered with Quizlet. You can also quiz yourself and track your results.
This application transforms your smartphone into a document scanner. With it, you can scan anything, be it a page from a book, your notes or a whiteboard and then convert them into PDF using them to study for your exams. The scanner is of high quality and preserves most of the pixels from the original photo even after conversion.
Encore Study platform
Encore takes online flashcards and then generates quizzes from them. Five sets of flashcards come together with the app and includes organic chemistry terminologies, high-level vocabulary, Spanish expressions, multiplication practice and literary terms. You can also search as well as download content from the Quizlet.
This is one of the funnest ways to study for an exam. You could either use a virtual cover or the iPad 2 Smart cover option to test yourself on a series of questions. Lifting the corner of the tablets cover reveals a clue on the screen. To view the answer, you are required to lift the cover even higher. Afterwards, you simply close the cover and repeat the process again.
With this application, exams will never sneak up on you. It allows you to track the exams that you have coming by storing the important dates all in one place. You can create a to-do list of all the items that you need to have completed or books you need to read before the exam.
If you are the kind of student who loves to take notes in the margin of your book, then this is the app for you. With it, you never have to worry about losing or not finding it when you need it. With each note that you make, you can number and even leave a comment so that you remember why exactly you wrote it down.
Share your Board
This allows you to take a picture of the classroom’s whiteboards, save and review them later. The application adjusts the white balance so that the contents are readable.
Throw away all the notebooks, posters and cards. This application will provide you with the resources that you need for revision. It features flashcards, quizzes, notes and mind maps. With it you can also create a revision timetable and jot down the things that you would want to remember.
This allows you to create flashcards, flip through them and get feedback on what you know. The application also filters out concepts that you have already mastered and review the questions that you have managed to get right.
Do you want to know the reason you failed your test? You probably did not study enough, and this application can help you with it. It records the times that you study and the number of breaks that you take. It can track your study time for about a month or longer you would want. Afterwards you can analyse the results and decide if you need to hit the books harder.
